Current Projects
NOS are developed in partnership with the Construction Industry Council (CIC). Generally, development work relating to ‘Craft and Operative’ occupations is carried out by the Standards and Qualifications team within ConstructionSkills, and development work relating to 'Technical, Supervisory and Management' occupations is carried out by CIC.
ConstructionSkills is embarking on a development and review programme throughout 2008 that will include the following projects.
- Revise mandatory/generic NOS to remove ‘Fire Extinguisher’ competency requirement and insert into relevant specific NOS or suites as required by occupations
- Review/Revision of NOS, Recommended Qualification Structures, Key/Core Skills Signposting and Assessment Strategy for:
Highways Maintenance
Heritage Skills
Steelfixing Occupations
Transportation
Site Setting Out
- Develop new NOS, Recommended Qualification Structures, Key/Core Skill Signposting and Assessment Strategy for:
Reinforcing Structures with Composite Materials
- Develop new NOS for:
Cosmetic Repair
Innovative Methods of Construction
