Our progress in Greater London
The delivery of a Sector Skills Agreement for Construction in Greater London depends on the full participation of all stakeholders, employers, employer organisations, trades unions, education and training providers and all major planning and funding agencies.
The London Construction Skills Forum brings together a wide range of strategic partners that include employers, federations, the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), London Development Agency (LDA), higher and further education representatives, Jobcentre Plus and Connexions.
In 2006, the Forum has restructured to enable the development and delivery of the London Regional Construction Sector Skills Agreement (SSA).
The Forum is driven by an Executive Group and three subgroups all chaired by major construction employers:
• Improving Business Performance
• Qualifying the Workforce
• Image and Recruitment
Supported by outputs from the regional Construction Skills Network Observatory, the Forum Executive Group will also take on the role of the London Regional Partnership for the National Skills Academy for Construction.
A strong link has also been established to the Constructing London 2012 Team.
The collaborative actions in the SSA are monitored against key targets and are under regular review to ensure they keep pace with an ever-changing construction industry and its ever-changing skills demands.
